Dippers, Hilla Green, Troutsdale

Dippers

It finally stopped raining on Saturday afternoon, so I nipped up to Hilla Green at Troutsdale again and was lucky enough to see the Dipper again, but in a better light than Friday and for a longer period of time.

The river is very high at the moment and the usual feeding and foraging rock areas are underwater, so it seems to go further down river to feed at the present time.

Hopefully the weather will fair up soon.

Garganey, Seamer Tip Ponds

Garganey

Cold wet and horrible Saturday morning, not unusual at the moment!! Not a lot to see early on but did glimpse a male Garganey, until it flew to some ponds on flooded fields, at the large pool Seamer Tip, Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

Dippers, Hilla Green, Troutsdale

Dipper

Not great sharp pictures of the Dipper, at Hilla Green, Troutsdale, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, due to poor light, but a lovely way to start a weekend.

Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, Falsgrave Park

Greater Spotted Woodpeckers

Photos taken around the outskirts of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, in Falsgrave Park, on Sunday the 22nd April 2012, a great showing from a lovely bird and a brillaint treat to see on my birthday. After a rubbish morning of rainy weather the sun came out and so did the birds.
Looking forward to photographing and seeing the youngsters been feed in a few weeks time.

Peregrine Falcons, Scarborough Castle Headland

Peregrine Falcons

My first blog upload and insertion and I don't think it could be a better bird than our local pair of Peregrine Falcons.
The pictures were taken on Saturday the 21st April 2012 at around 7.30 am, on one of the last fine mornings we've had lately, at The Castle Headland, Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
The pictures are of the male Peregrine, as the female is sat on the nest, which unfortunately, is not in view this year.
